Obituary

Theresa "Peachy" Iaccarino Ciaffone, 86 of North Branford died peacefully on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side throughout her long illness. She was the beloved wife of sixty two years to Frank Ciaffone. Theresa was born in New Haven on February 24, 1932, a daughter of the late Gennaro and Maria Aiello Iaccarino, and had resided in North Branford for the past fifty years. She was a loving beautiful woman who dedicated her life to the caring of her family. The Ciaffone and Katz families wish to extend their heart-felt thanks to the entire wonderful staff at Connecticut Hospice for their dedication and loving care bestowed upon Theresa while in their care. Theresa was passionate about cooking and baking, enjoyed flower arranging and gardening, and was an avid collector of figurines. Besides her husband, Theresa is survived by her daughter Theresa Katz and her husband Robert D. Katz, and her beloved grandson Jonathan R. Katz (NDWH '19), all of Hamden, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by four sisters, Mary Lampo, Rose Carrano, Raffaela Borio and Laura Iaccarino, and five brothers, Dominic and Gerald Accrino, and August, Gennaro and Frank Iaccarino. The Ciaffone and Katz families wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers at Connecticut Hospice for their dedication, and the loving care bestowed upon Theresa while in their care. Theresa's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 in St. Augustine Church, 30 Caputo Rd., North Branford. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
