Loving Father, Brother, Grandfather and Great Grandfather


Saren Kanh, 79 of New Haven died peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Arden House, Hamden with his loving family by his side. Mr. Kanh was born in the Cambodian Khrom, Cambodia on March 5, 1937, a son of the late Kong Thach. While in Cambodia he was a Buddhist Monk and a farmer for many years. Mr. Kanh came to the United States with his family in 1983, and resided in Bridgeport for twenty seven years, before moving to New Haven seven years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Kanga Kanh of Hamden, two sons, Danny Kanh and his wife Kimsean of New Haven and Tukla Kanh and his wife Violetta of Bridgeport, one sister, Kimvar Hang of Seim Reap, Cambodia, one brother Sourin Hang of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his adoptive parents, Tho Hang and Kimmao Hang, two daughters, Paula and Ranny Kanh, and one brother, Bunteoun Hang.

Mr. Kanh's family will receive relatives and friends at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven on Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Kanh's funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. for a committal service at 2:00 p.m. at Walnut Grove Crematory, 817 Old Colony Rd., Meriden.
