Loving Son, Uncle, Great Uncle and Friend

Obituary

Richard "Richie" T. Mills, 67 of East Haven, formerly of Branford and New Haven died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Richie was born in New Haven on October 5, 1950, a son of the late Clarence and Mary "Mae" Borzenski Mills. He was a lifetime CT resident, and developed several friendships throughout his life. He spent many years tending bar and later, working for Servpro CT. Like his mother, he was an avid NY Yankees and UCONN fan, and made sure to catch most of the games on television. He loved the water and was always drawn to the CT coastline, growing up in the Morris Cove section of New Haven, and then moving to East Haven and Branford, before settling back in East Haven. Richie captured any opportunity he had to enjoy the water. He spent many decades of fishing with friends, and making some great catches. He had story after story about his fishing adventures, and always took advantage of any chance he got to talk about boating. Richie's remaining family are his nephews Randy Mills of Dallas, TX and Russ (Mena) Mills along with his four great-nieces and nephew residing in CT. In addition he had a vast circle of friends whom he considered his family. Richie's family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A prayer service will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. during the visitation. Burial will be private. www.washingtonmeorialfh.com
