Mary Frances "Mae" Richardson Cummings, 97 of North Haven entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Mae was born on August 20, 1918, in New Haven, to the late Robert and Catherine O'Grady Richardson. She was the devoted wife of the late George Joseph Cummings. Mae was the mother of Catherine (John) Deppen and Brian Cummings, both of North Haven. She was predeceased by her sisters, Catherine L. Richardson of New Haven and Margaret Lenihan of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by a nephew, Thomas Lenihan and his daughter Lian Hue Lenihan of Ambler, PA. Mae attended St. Francis Grammar School in New Haven where she was an original member of the bugle corps. She graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1036, and attended McKeown's Business School. Mae was employed by the Southern New England Telephone Company in the accounting department, and was a member of the Pioneers of SNET. Mae was a member of St. Barnabas Women's Club, the Catholic Council, and the North Haven Senior Center. She taught CCD classes in North Haven for many years. Mae was a wonderful mother with a grand sense of humor. She often regaled friends and family with her latest joke. She will be dearly missed.

Mae's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday (TODAY) from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Memorial contributions in Mae's name may be made to Hospice Home Care, 110 Barnes Road, Wallingford, CT 06492. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
