Obituary

Mary Langello Cicarelli, 95 of New Haven died peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank "Chick" Cicarelli. Mary was born in New Haven on March 12, 1923, a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Rose Consiglio Langello, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. Along with her husband, she owned and operated the former Sun Valley Grove Restaurant of Branford, and was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernadette Church. Mary is survived by two daughters, Annette (Angelo) Pompano of Guilford and Bernadette Pepe of New Haven, two sisters, Raffaela "Rae" (Gennaro) Viscuso of New Haven and Anne Gargano of North Haven, four grandchildren, Rosemarie (Sam) Inati, Michael (Michelle) Pompano, Christina Pepe and Andrea Pepe, and four great-grandchildren, Melody, Mason, Joseph and James. She was predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Andrew and Gennaro Langello. Mary's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
