Obituary

Maria Luisa Molina, 88 of New Haven died peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 6, 2016 after a short illness, and her beloved family by her side. Maria was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala on June 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Adrian Molina and the late Bernarda Cabrera de Molina, and moved to New Haven in 1984. She was a parishioner of the former St. John the Evangelist, and St. Peter Church communities, and current parishioner of the Sacred Heart Church Community of St. Anthony Church of New Haven. Maria is survived by two daughters, Gilda Marroquin and her husband Jorge of New Haven and Dora De Osa and her husband Francisco of Central Falls, RI, four grandchildren, Luisa Olmos and her husband Elien of East Haven, Flor Marroquin of Hamden, and Jennifer and Arlene De Osa of San Diego, CA, and two great grandchildren, Ethan Olmos, and Evan Ramirez. She was predeceased by two sisters, Laura Elena Molina, and Catalina Molina, and four brothers, Juan, Carlos, Adrian and Francisco Molina.

Maria's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 115 Blatchley Ave., New Haven.
