Obituary

Jesse C. Jaqua, 90 of North Haven died peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 29, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann Caroline DePino Jaqua. Jesse was born in the Morris Cove section of New Haven on January 15, 1927, a son of the late Jesse and Edith Van Sickles Jaqua, and had resided in North Haven for the past forty years. He was an electrical engineer for the former Avco Lycoming Textron of Stratford for thirty years, retiring in 1977. Jesse was a proud WWII Army Veteran, and served in the European Theatre. After the war, he attended UConn on the GI Bill, and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He was also an avid golfer and skier. Jesse is survived by his brother Warren Jaqua and his wife Marilyn of East Haven, and his niece Lisa Winch and her husband Paul of Westbrook.

Jesse's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., the Reverend Scott Morrow officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
