Harold Eugene Pepe, 84 of New Haven died suddenly on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of sixty two years to Grace Di Elsi Pepe. Harold was born in New Haven on February 7, 1932, a son of the late Mario and Lucy Fulton Pepe, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. He was a retired welder, having worked at Electric Boat, New London for fifteen years, and then for the former New Haven Iron Works Co. for and additional thirty years, retiring in 1994. Harold enjoyed cooking, loved to hunt, was an avid hockey and football fan, and would ice skate at the East Haven Rink two to three times a week. He was also a member of the Branford Gun Club. Harold is also survived by a daughter, Sharon Pepe-Aceto and her husband Nicholas of East Haven, a sister, Carolyn Proto of Cheshire, three granddaughters, Christina, Andrea and Nicole Pepe, all of New Haven, and a great grandson, Mason Marchitto. He was predeceased by his son Bruce Steven Pepe, and his infant brother, William Pepe.

THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. Relatives and friends are invited to go directly to St. Bernadette Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven on Saturday for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements.
