Giacomo "Jack" Ferrante, 87 of Hamden, formerly of Clermont, FL, Palermo, Italy and New York City died peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Maria Florinda Salvagna Ferrante of Clermont. Jack was born in New York City on July 5, 1930, a son of the late Giovanni and Giuseppina Pecorella Ferrante. He lived in New York City for most of his life, before moving to Palermo, thirty years ago. He returned to the U.S., and resided in Clermont, FL for four years before moving to Hamden four months ago. Jack was a glass maker in New York City for over twenty years, retiring thirty years ago, and was a proud Korean War Army Veteran. He is also survived by one daughter, Diane Kashuba and her husband Rick of Naugatuck, one son, John Ferrante of Orlando, FL, his twin brother, Frank Ferrante of Palermo, two grandchildren, Toni Ferrara and her husband Louis of Hamden and Gerardo Russo of Naugatuck, four great grandchildren, Michela, Christina, Julian and Adrian Ferrara, and his former wife Maryanne Scherma Carrol of Orlando. He was predeceased by his second wife Maria Gambino Ferrante. Funeral services for Mr. Ferrante are private, and have been entrusted to the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven.
