Obituary

Edward James Provost, 63 of North Haven died suddenly on Friday, July 20, 2018. Ed was born in Phillipsburg, NJ on October 18, 1954, a son of the late George and Catherine Copeland Provost. He had resided in New Haven for most of his life, and in North Haven for the past sixteen years. Ed started working at Modern Restaurant Equipment of New Haven when he was sixteen, and had owned and operated Colonial Restaurant Supply of New Haven for the past thirty years. He loved baseball, and played in various area baseball leagues throughout his youth. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and a diehard UConn Huskies fan. Ed is survived by two sons, Corey James Provost and Matthew Michael Provost of Wallingford, one sister, Sandra (Frank) Ricciuti of North Haven, one brother, Robert M. (Janice) Provost of Northford, his former wife Nancy Padzinski Provost of Wallingford, and six nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, George John Provost. Ed's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 27th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Everyone is invited to go directly to East Lawn Cemetery, 58 River St., East Haven on Saturday, July 28th for a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions in Ed's name may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
