Ciro Coppola, 87 of Hamden died peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Mosonicare Health Center, Wallingford with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of sixty one years to Josephine Sgueglia Coppola. Ciro was born in Ruviano, Province of Caserta, Italy on July 20, 1930, a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Rosa Ricciutti Coppola, and had resided in Hamden since 1958. He worked for the former Mite Corp. of New Haven for more than thirty years, retiring in 1996. Ciro was a member of the San Leone Society of New Haven. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Maria (Robert) Renaldi of Hamden, two sons, Joseph (Josephine) Coppola of Southington and Nicholas (Bonnie) Coppola of Cheshire, one sister, Italia Coppola of Piana di Monte Verna, (CE) Italy, three brothers, Antonio (Ersilia) Coppola of Hamden, and Pino (Adolorata) Coppola and Vittorio (Paolina) Coppola of Piana di Monte Verna, and four grandchildren, Christina and Michael Coppola, Alyssa Renaldi, and Erica D'Amato. He was predeceased by three brothers, Michele, Angelo and Filomeno Coppola. Ciro's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. His funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden.
