Obituary

Ana Lidia Colón, 73 of New Haven died peacefully at Connecticut Hospice, Branford on Saturday, May 6, 2017 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of twenty two years to Luís Pinto. Ana was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico on February 8, 1944, a daughter of the late Juan Colón and the late Carmen Cedeño, and had resided in New Haven since 1992. She is also survived by two sons, Oscar Silva and his wife Corine Martinez of Ponce, Puerto Rico, and Juan Silva and his wife Epifania of Orlando, FL, one sister, Carmen Díaz of Yauco, three brothers, Luís Colón of New York City, and Rafael Díaz and José Luís Santiago of Yauco, ten grandchildren, Alex Silva, Juan Oscar Silva, Lisandra, Genesis, Roberto, Luís, Juan Carlos, Jamil and Amaury Silva, and Jocelyn Jara, and one great grandson, Adrián Díaz. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lisandra Silva, and a brother, Carmelo Díaz.

Ana's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Her funeral procession will leave from the funeral home on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 115 Blatchley Ave., New Haven. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
