Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Brother in Law, Uncle, Cousin and Friend

David Allen Moser, 65, of Hamden, Connecticut passed away peacefully Monday evening, September 10, 2018 at his home in Hamden with his loving and caring family by his side. David was the beloved husband of Marie Greger, and the father of Max, Lucy, and Paige Greger-Moser. He was born in Seattle, Washington in 1953 to the late Harry and Edith Moser. David lived in Hamden for over thirty years, after being raised in Malverne, Long Island. He graduated Cum Laude from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 1976 with a 5th year Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture that included a Bachelor's of Science Degree. David worked for the City of New Haven Parks Dept. as their Landscape Architect for over twenty years. He was honored with a Friends of Wooster Square Award in 2017 by the Historic Wooster Square Association, and he was given the 2018 City Spirit Recognition Award by Mayor Toni Harp. Many of his personal touches and hard work can be seen and appreciated in parks and monuments throughout the city, including Edgewood Skate Park, the Monument Fountain on the Green, Long Warf Park, Cherry Ann Street Park, each of New Haven's numerous splash pads, and Harvey's Walk in Wooster Square, to name a few. He diligently championed for the planting of flowering trees in front of City Hall and the Hall of Records, which will bloom each year in April for the City's birthday. He lead and participated in numerous other civic and community projects, and his designs and legacy can be seen and enjoyed in most public spaces in New Haven. David loved his family first and foremost, and was a devoted father and husband. He also had a great love for nature and the outdoors, and enjoyed walking and hiking, gardening, biking, swimming, drawing, architecture, reading and listening to music. His three children and wife of thirty three years survive him. He was predeceased by his sister, Irene Garver of Rochester, NY, and his brother, Robert Moser of Pittsford, NY. David leaves a niece, Lindsay Andon of Baltimore, Maryland, her husband Tim and son Nathan, a nephew, Ryan Garver of Syaracuse, NY, his wife Lauren and son Connor, his brother in law, Stan Garver of Cary, North Carolina, two cousins and their families, Nevin and Miles Berger of California, and a cousin, Peter Snyder of Cardiff, England. A celebration of Life Service for David will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Edgerton Park Carriage House, 75 Cliff St., New Haven.
