Joseph A. Caruso, 57 of Northford, formerly of New Haven died peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Yale-New Haven Hospital, St. Raphael Campus with his loving family by his side. Joe was born in New Haven on December 22, 1961, a son of Rose Ardigliano Knapp of New Haven and the late James Caruso, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. He worked as a laborer for several area construction companies for several years up until the time of his illness. In addition to his mother, Joe is survived by a daughter, Gina (William) Collazo of West Palm Beach, FL, a son, Angelo John Santanillo of New Haven, a grandson, William Collazo, Jr. of West Palm Beach, and four brothers, James (Theresa Zumbo) Caruso and Edward (Christine) Caruso of New Haven, Robert (Lori) Caruso of Northford and Paul (Mary Ann) Caruso of Meriden. Joe's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.

My condolences to the family! I met Joey at 16 and he was a soul that was unforgettable. He had a strong free spirit and a deep love for his friends and family. I pray you find comfort in your memories and in Gods promises for eternal life.
