Wilfredo Correa, 61 of New Haven died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Georgina de la Paz Correa. Wilfredo was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on April 21, 1957, a son of the late Francisco Correa and the late Ramona Falero, and had resided in New Haven for the past forty four years. He was a machine operator for the former Connecticut Hard Rubber Company, later known as the St. Goban Performance Plastic Co. for sixteen years. He later worked for Uretek of New Haven for eight years, retiring in 2011. Wilfredo is survived by two daughters, Janelle and Yadira Correa, and a son, Wilfredo Correa, Jr. of New Haven, five sisters, Carmen Rodriguez, Lucy Falero and Maritza (Charles) Cooper of Ft. Meyers, FL, and Milagros Peña and Rosa Mercado of New Haven, two brothers, José (Dorcas) Machicote of Waterbury and Hector Peña of Ft. Meyers, and three grandsons, Jayden Gaston, Jonathan Franco and Misael Correa. Wilfredo's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, December 8th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 5:00 p.m. Burial will be private. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
