Warren G. Jaqua, 88 of East Haven died peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Elliott Jaqua. Warren was born in New Haven on February 8, 1930, a son of the late Jesse and Edith Vansickle Jaqua, and was a lifelong East Haven resident. He was a proud Korean War Army Veteran, and while serving in Korea he received a battlefield promotion to sergeant. Warren was a 1952 graduate of the former New Haven State Teachers' College (SCSU) with a BS, and went on to be a school teacher in the New Haven Public School System for thirty five years, retiring in 1988. He is also survived by a niece, Lisa (Paul) Winch of Westbrook and a nephew, Alan (Lisa) Schabel. He was predeceased by a brother, Jesse C. Jaqua. Warren's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 6th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Scott Morrow officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
