Katherine Gavidia, 27 of Hamden, formerly of New Haven died suddenly in New Haven from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on I-91 northbound. Katherine was born in the Bronx, NY on January 30, 1991, the beloved daughter of Grisselle (Navarro) Negrón and Ernesto Gavidia of New Haven. She had resided in New Haven for most of her life and in Hamden for the past three years. Kathy was a 2009 graduate of Wilbur Cross High School of New Haven, and worked as a private home healthcare aid for the past two years. Kathy is also survived by her step father George Negrón of New Haven, a brother, George Gavidia of New Haven, her maternal grandparents Daniel and Lydia Negrón of Naguabo, Puerto Rico, her paternal grandparents Jorge and Berta Gavidia of Lima, Peru, two step sisters, Natasha (Joel) Rivera of Greenville, SC and Lillian Negrón of Tampa, FL, one step brother, Kevin Negrón of Greer, SC, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Kathy's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 9th at Iglesia Cristiana Estrella Resplandeciente de Jacob, 201 Chapel St., New Haven from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the church on Wednesday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Kathy was my friend and companion. She was a beautiful young lady with A heart of gold. She always look on the bright side of things and had a smile on her face at all times . She will be my heart forever and I will always love her. My prayers go out to her family and friends. RIP
