Milagros Virgen Juarbe, 86 of New Haven died peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of fifty years to the late Carlos Antonio Juarbe. Milagros was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on December 2, 1931, a daughter of the late Felix Melendez and Salome Melendez-Lopez, and had resided in New Haven for more than sixty years. Milagros is survived by her seven children, Felix (Carmen) Rodriguez, Zigfredo (Rosa) Rodriguez, Gladys (Roberto) Peréz of West Haven, Ada (Osvaldo) Saez, Carlos Juarbe, and Mary (George) Bentley of New Haven, and Elieser (Renee) Juarbe of North Carolina, three sisters, Elsie Juarbe of Isabela, PR, and Maria Díaz and Maria S. Melendez of New Haven, her brother Alcide Melendez of Haverhill, MA, twenty grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. Milagros' family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 28 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
