Blas Antonio Zayas, Jr., 47 of New Haven died peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with his loving family by his side, and after a long courageous battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband of Noemi Lopez Zayas. Blas was born in New Haven on February 28, 1970, a loving son of Carmen Rodriguez of New Haven and Blas Antonio Zayas, Sr. of Deltona, FL, and was a lifelong New Haven resident. He is also survived by six children, Luís Armando Zayas and Carmen Zayas of Salinas, Puerto Rico, Johan (Lena) Rodriguez of Cheshire, and Elvin and Naeroby Lopez and Auriman Rodriguez of New Haven, two sisters, Edith Enid (Justino) Rosado of Deltona and Betzaida Zayas of East Haven, one brother, Luís Armando (Yasmine) Zayas of East Haven, and twelve grandchildren including Bookie, Laly, Jommy, Toby, Jaela, Bella and Gordo.

Blas' family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, November 29th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, November 30th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
